We managed to get out and about proper on the day before departure, and headed down to Fernworthy Reservoir. We had been told by kindly Chagford locals that it was somewhere good to go. They were right - it was a lovely place.
But it was sooo cold. Despite that, Kai refused to be buggy'ed back to the car, insisting on walking. It was tantrum city if we tried to pick him up. Above is a shot of Kai looking happy, shortly before his tantrum rolls in and nukes the forest.
On the way back to the cottage, the car travelled through some ordinary-looking puddle at some speed. Within that ordinary-looking puddle was an extraordinary pit in the road - taking out both tyres on the left side of the car. And that was the end of our afternoon adventures (although thumbs up to the AA).
