Daddy then took him down to Croydon Rec and put him on a slide Kai seemed interested in. Surely, I thought, he had been on this slide before on his previous visit with Aki.
I took a picture on his way down and you can see the prognosis does not look good. This does not look like someone sliding down safely.
When he reached the bottom, he slid straight off the slide and rolled forward onto his face. Lots of tears. A cut lip. And a Daddy feeling guilty about taking a photo while his son was hurtling to his doom.
