The temple everyone loves to hate, Kinkakuji. The gold does seem a trifle bit over the top on this temple reconstruction, but the surroundings are very appealing. I still give the experience a thumbs-up.
This temple is really popular but you can only reach it conveniently by bus. Well, unless you go by taxi, but I consider that cheating. No points for you.
