24 Jun 2006: Unreliable

St. John's Abbey Gate

I had this idea that, with the wireless internet, you could just hook in and browse. You would probably pay for the minutes you were actively browsing. But oh no. You've got to buy a package in advance. You have to decide how many minutes of browsing you think you will do in advance. Those packages that do allow you to pay per minute without any stupid Guestimate-Your-Usage constraints measure you by how long you are logged on for - not for what browsing you do. So if you want browse for something briefly and then get back to whatever it was you were doing you have to remember to log out first otherwise those flat minutes will be counted as Internet Time. I decided the wireless internet wasn't worth my time. I'll wait until it grows up.
