22 Dec 2004: A Christmas Toast

Oriental City

As I was in desperate need of Japanese supplies, such as the amazing Pocari Sweat, Aki and I visited Oriental City in Hendon. Originally a large Japanese supermarket called Yaohan Plaza, it is now a more diverse mix of shops, but a formidable Japanese supermarket can still be found within its walls.

No, we didn't buy any Asahi beer, but we did stock up on many other favorites or, at least, appropriate replacements. A picture of our shopping was published to the Japanese weblog on November 27.

Much thanks to Tanith and Chris for driving us and our shopping results all the way back to Docklands for us. Tanith didn't do any driving, but she was very supportive. I wouldn't listen to any of those blatantly untrue rumours that she had a nap during the journey.
