Day Ten: All My Dreams

Around 11.30am, we reached Jomon-sugi. It seems ironic that we lost weight to see something that fat.

To be honest, we felt some relief after we got to Jomon-sugi. Now, you see, we could tell how long it would take us to get back. We wouldn't miss the bus! Joyous! I was still disturbed, however, at the number of elderly hikers that had been overtaking me.

The journey back down was easier, mainly because it was downhill. Plus, I had gained a lot of confidence on the way up, I was no longer scared of falling to my death. (Yes I'm joking, I mean just falling and getting a broken leg)

However, I stubbed my toe rather badly on the way down and the easy railroad journey was absolute agony! Still, I'm glad we did it, it's an accomplishment neither of us will forget easily. Neither will my toe which is still purple right now. We got back to the starting point at 4.30pm, with plenty of time to catch the bus.

We saw a deer on the rail road too, which jumped out of some bushes behind me as I staggered past.
