As you'd expect, there are plenty of boat excursions available, even sailing all the way down to Fort William. We took a 3 hour cruise down the tranquil Caledonian Canal with Jacobite, which kicked off with a short bus ride to the ferry terminal. Our bus driver goes down as the funniest driver/guide in history... he had all of us in stitches.
It was a peaceful sojourn across the water, revealing grand, picturesque views bathed in the intermittent light of a shy sun. The cruise travelled across Loch Ness to Urquhart Castle and then turned around to take us back to Inverness. You will find a glimpse of what we saw above.
