There's a great big television tower slap bang in the middle of Sapporo, on the edge of Odori-koen. Although it might be considered unslightly, it has one redeeming feature: it offers the opportunity to see the entire Odori-koen Yuki Matsuri display from high above.
We went up to the tower observation deck on our final night, but had to put up with horrendous queues. We could have skipped the queues if we had taken the "Staircase Challenge". I'm unsure whether the staircase had the same heating as the interior of the building.
